Altar a la Patria in Basque de Chapultepec, Mexico City, Mexico

The Altar a la Patria in Basque de Chapultepec, a large and popular public park in the center of Mexico City. The monument contains the remains of the Niños Héroes and General Felipe Santiago Xicoténcatl. It was designed by sculptor Ernesto Tamariz and Arq. Enrique Aragon E and inaugurated on September 27, 1952. On the site are held civic ceremonies and formal visits of leaders of other countries usually leave wreaths as a tribute to the history of Mexico.
