A bronze statue by Nina Akamu of cranes escaping from barbed wire in the center of the the Memorial to Japanese-American Patriotism in World War II near the US Capitol in Washington DC. The memorial was designed by Davis Buckley and Nina Akamu and commemorates those held in Japanese American internment camps during World War II.
