Monastery of Sao Vicente de Fora in Lisbon Portugal

LISBON, Portugal - According to tradition, the Chapel of St Anthony was the cell where St Anthony was interned while a Canon Regular of St Augustine. The chapel was completed in 1740 and is noteworthy for its ornate polychrome marble decoration. The Monastery of São Vicente de Fora is a 17th-century church and monastery in the Alfama neighborhood of Lisbon. It features ornately decorated sections in the Baroque style as well as the Braganza Pantheon, where the kings who ruled Portugal between 1640 and 1910 are interred.
