Redstone Rocket at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

A Redstone PGM-11 nuclear missile on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center. Its design was descended from the German V-2 rocket, and it was the first U.S. missile carry a live nuclear warhead (in a 1958 test). The Redstone was in service from June 1958 to June 1964. Located near Dulles Airport, the Udvar-Hazy Center is the second public facility of the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. Housed in a large hangar are a multitude of planes, helicopter, rockets, and space vehicles.
